If you're running Windows 7, you might run across a problem whereby some Unicode characters such as emoticons are not rendered correctly in Hiri. As a result, the content or subject of your emails might look garbled, like in this picture:
This is a well known problem with rendering fonts in some versions of Windows 7 and can be fixed by downloading and installing this Windows update:
Once that is installed the characters will be rendered correctly:
