This article describes how to install Hiri tarball package on Linux. Alternatively, you can also install Hiri via Snap.
Download the installation file Hiri.tar.gz from the downloads page.
Open a new terminal window and navigate to the folder where you downloaded Hiri:
$ cd ~/Downloads
$ tar xf Hiri.tar.gz
$ cd hiri
$ ./hiri.sh
Simply follow the wizard to log in to your email. Once you're in, you can create a desktop launcher to be able to start Hiri more easily from your desktop environment. Open:
Settings → Preferences → Create desktop entry.
Hiri icon will now appear in your desktop launcher.
Notes:
- Since Hiri is proprietary, the source code is not provided.
- The download package includes a binary build of Hiri with all the dependencies included, so you don't have to install anything else.
- This is a 64bit build and presently there are no 32bit builds.
If this error is shown when starting Hiri:cannot execute binary file: Exec format error
that means that you're on a 32bit system.
To remove the tarball version, just delete the dir and remove $HOME/.local/share/hiri
